All new team members are employed by Meltz on an introductory basis. You will come in for a very short brief time frame (30 Mins-2 Hours MAX) and follow a team member around. This will be more observation of what our day to day looks like. We might ask you to do a task or two. This is to see how you flow in our environment. This is also in your best interest as well, to see if you would enjoy this line of work. We provide a Full Sandwich following this. Our management team will then reach out to you to see when we can bring you back, if you are a good fit. Then you will start your Introductory Period. This is the time when we help you get started in your new job. It also allows new team members and their supervisors to determine how well they perform in a job, whether the job for which they are hired is suitable to their skills, personality, and career goals. Our introductory period is 7 working days for training and to receive feedback and coaching. Management will set up a review appointment with you at the end of your first 30 working days to discuss your performance and your next steps. This means your performance, aptitude and attitude will be evaluated by the management staff during this time.
During your introductory period, as well as during the entire course of your employment, you may be terminated with or without cause and with or without notice. Meltz reserves the right to immediately terminate an employee without notice for the following: gross insubordination, walking off the job, use of illegal drugs or alcohol while on duty or reporting to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol, destruction of Meltz’s property, physical threats toward anyone, theft or being an accomplice to theft, possession of illegal drugs on the premises, or failure to report for a scheduled shift without contacting the manager on duty. Upon successful completion of this introductory period, you will attain a "regular" status. This should not be interpreted to mean that you have a permanent job or a guarantee of the number of hours scheduled in a work week. As any employer, Meltz retains the right to terminate team members with or without cause and with or without notice.
Work hours and schedule will be provided on Fridays for a 1-week period and posted in the Meltz office and on the Crew application. It is the responsibility of the employee to obtain his or her schedule. Staffing needs and operational demands will necessitate variations in starting and end times, as well as variations in the total number of hours that may be scheduled each day and week. Posted schedules are subject to change as work demands necessitate and management will immediately notify appropriate employees affected by any schedule changes. If you need to make a change to a posted schedule, that change must be approved and initialed by either the General Manager or the Assistant Manager. You are responsible to work your scheduled shifts unless you can get your shift covered by someone with equal or higher skill set.
